An affiliate funnel is the path between first attention and the merchant conversion. It can be one page long or include several stages.

The simplest funnel

Search article → commercial comparison or review → affiliate link → merchant. For many content sites, this is enough.

When to add email

Email becomes useful when the buying cycle is longer or the audience benefits from ongoing education. That often starts with a genuinely useful lead magnet.

Measure stages separately

Track search impressions, page engagement, outbound affiliate clicks, opt-ins, and downstream conversions where program reporting allows it.
